We help adventurous cooks expand their repertoire and better exploit their local resources. We seek out and index the most exciting recipes that use exotic or hard to find ingredients and match them to local stores or vendors where our users can find those items and more.

Cook’s Compass began in 2007 when three friends decided to create a web site that would help people break their food routines. Each of us are fortunate to live near myriad little gourmet, ethnic and specialty food stores, and enjoy exploring them. We wanted to share our passion for food, cooking and adventurous eating, and help others step out of the ordinary! And so we began creating the site, keeping track of what stores we’ve visited and what the sell and the dishes we’ve learned to make.
Andrew and Jesse live in Cambridge, and Erwin lives in New York City.
